Job Details

Our client, based in East Essex are looking to appoint an experienced Environmental Protection Officer to join their team in the next couple of weeks. They are looking at engaging someone to deal with the full range of statutory nuisances including odour, light, smoke, accumulations of refuse etc as well as noise. You will also be asked to deal with public health duties such as dealing with vermin infested land, using PDPA, F&V etc.

This role will require at least 2 years experiences within a local authority setting doing all or as many of these disciples as possible.

The contract is due to start late May and the role length would be flexible dependent on candidate – they are likely to be funded for 6 months full time, but could spread this out some months longer for (say) a 4 day or 3 day week, if that was the candidates preference and it worked for them too.

Due to the nature of the role (i.e. district based) this is not suitable for 100% home working, they would expect flexible physical attendance in the borough to investigate cases and at least some attendance in the office, the more the better is their preference, dependant on candidate.

They are looking to pay £35-£40PH Umbrella.
