Pollution Control Specialist

Our client, based on the South Coast, are looking for a Permanent Pollution Control Specialist to join their team. You will be expected to undertake inspections and investigations in relation to matters relating statutory nuisance, environmental permitting, air pollution, contaminated land and provide advice on planning applications. You will also be expected to Scrutinise plans, carry out surveys and make recommendations on planning applications in relation to pollution control matters such as nuisance, contaminated land and waste. To lead on the investigation of complex statutory nuisance cases in accordance with relevant legislation, guidance and Council policy.

In order to be considered it is essential that you hold a A BSc in an environmental discipline or CIEH Diploma in Environmental Health Or educated to Degree level in a scientific discipline. You must have Knowledge and experience of environmental enforcement - gathering of evidence, issuing of notices, etc Knowledge of the relevant environmental legislation. An understanding of the planning applications process and finally Significant experience in air pollution, contaminated land and noise control. 

The role is Band 8 paying £40,115 - £43,291 and you will also be offered the below benefits:
