Our client, based in South London, are looking for an Operations Manager to will report into the Assistant Director of Culture , Communities and Engagement.  You will be asked to manage the delivery of town centre operational management  for the council, acting as the ‘eyes and ears’ of the council, gathering, reporting and finding solutions to town centre issues.  You will be the single point of contact to deliver an essential co-ordinating function, bringing together cross-functional services including neighbourhood rangers, street scene, cleansing/waste, ASB/enforcement, planning and licensing to lead on operational management of the Town Centre

You will be asked to develop a town centre operational plan that builds pride in the town centre, improves the street scene environment, reduces anti-social behaviour and environmental crime. Build on learning from the operational plan, looking at innovative solutions to improve services within the town centre. Acting as a central point of contact for town centre issues and liaising with the Operations Manager of the BID and Neighbourhood Manager to ensure a joined up approach you will be proactively collecting, maintaining and reporting on information relating to the  town centre, recommending actions to address issues. Monitoring and providing regular reports on progress and performance indicators and working towards reducing the level of complaints and escalations of town centre issues.

Key deliverables  for the assignment will be

To develop a Town centre Action plan with strategic partners.
Set up a reporting function to monitor complaints and take learning forward to improve cleanliness and maintenance of the Town Centre BID.
Work with partners to develop an action plan to enhance safety within the Town centre, enhancing it's look and feel.
Develop an action plan with key stakeholders to protect and enhance the town centre's civic and cultural importance to include, but not limited to the memorial gardens and ancient market place.

To be successful you will demonstrate a high level of innovation and creativity and have experience in leading in a multi-agency environment and work successfully with key stakeholders including Members, residents, businesses, communities, partner organisations and other public services.

The council will offer you an initial 3 month contract (that is likely to be extended) paying £400 per day (Umbrella)
