Eastleigh Borough Council is an ambitious and progressive Council and we are recognised for our innovation and achievements, whilst delivering high quality service to our customers and the community.
We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Housing Enforcement Officer.

Areas of responsibility will focus on regulation and enforcement in connection with rented accommodation standards and houses in multiple occupation (HMOs). You will be expected to carry out site visits, undertake full property inspections and assessments, provide clear and detailed reports, keep and maintain clear case records, and handle licensing applications for HMOs and Caravan Sites.

You will need to have a good standard of general education, and higher education in environmental health or similar subject and/or membership of relevant professional body is desirable. Previous experience in housing enforcement and in the use of the Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS) is essential. Experience in empty property work and licensing, in particular houses in multiple occupation and caravan sites, is desirable.

The role sits within the Council’s Housing Standards team who covers all aspects of regulation of private sector housing along with delivery of the Council’s disabled facility grant service. As part of this small team you will be a crucial part of ensuring our residents have access to good standards of accommodation.

At Eastleigh, we are inclusive, innovative, and enjoyable; we support employees in maintaining work life balance through our flexi time system and offer opportunities for career progression and development. Our benefits are wide ranging, including a generous pension scheme.
If you are excited by this opportunity and feel you have the skills, experience, and attitude we are looking for we would love to hear from you.
