Lead Environmental Health Practitioner (Health & Safety, Primary Authority)

We are looking for a “can do” environmental health practitioner who wants to take the next step up into management to lead on health and safety enforcement responsibilities and Primary Authority development.

This role would suit an experienced officer who has undertaken some management training and wants the opportunity to put this into practice, and/or a natural manager, business advisor and investigator with excellent communication skills, a passion for public protection and business growth and supervising leading teams.

 A diploma or degree in environmental health, or equivalent, with experience in health and safety is essential for the role with other experience in food safety and standards, zoos, hygiene and outbreak management and Primary Authority partnerships desirable.  Consideration will also be given to exceptional part qualified candidates with significant equivalent experience who are able to demonstrate competency to undertake the suite of functions.  Ideally you will have comprehensive knowledge of environmental health and public heath laws and procedures.
