18.5 hours per week – Temporary Contract up to two years

Grade 7 (Graduate EHO) £34,723 to £37,261 (Pro rata)

Grade 8 (EHO) £38,296 to £41,496 (Pro rata)

Uttlesford is a thriving predominantly rural District in north-west Essex, 16 miles south of Cambridge. We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated Officer to work within the Environmental Health (Protection) Service.

As a member of our small multi-disciplinary team you will be involved in a wide variety of environmental health functions, including, air quality, environmental permitting, noise monitoring, private water supplies, contaminated land, licensing, planning consultations and some private sector housing regulation.

Our closely bonded team is committed to provide an excellent service to our residents, the business community, and our partners. We are seeking a candidate with excellent skills in communication, prioritisation, and planning. It is essential you have a ‘can do’ attitude, be self-motivated and be willing to get involved in different work streams. You must be able to take responsibility for a varied caseload and be committed to team working.

The successful candidate for the Graduate Environmental Health position will be a newly qualified Environmental Health Officer who is wishing to develop professionally and gain experience in a wide range of duties.  To qualify for the Environmental Health Officer position you must be experienced, hold CIEH registered or chartered status and be willing to take responsibility for complex casework.
