Salary: £32,909- £35,411 per annum (Grade E2) - Pay Award Pending
We are seeking an enthusiastic, confident, and self-motivated Environmental Health Officer to join our busy Private Sector Housing team.
We have a growing private rented sector with a diverse range of housing issues across a mixed urban and rural district in the heart of Warwickshire.
Your work will be focused on reactive HHSRS inspections, MEES and empty properties.
You will have a busy caseload of your own but also work closely with the Senior Environmental Health Officer for enforcement work. You will have a thorough knowledge of current housing legislation as it relates to the private rented sector.
You will have a degree in Environmental Health, or an equivalent qualification and registration with EHORB as a Registered Environmental Health Practitioner or Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner.
Ideally, you will have a minimum of 12 months post-qualification experience in Private Sector Housing, and you will possess effective communication skills, a good knowledge of building construction and preparing schedules of work. You will have effective negotiating skills when dealing with landlords, tenants and letting agents.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a basic DBS check and have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
This post is based on hybrid working combining home and office work but will require extensive site inspections.
If you have any questions or wish to have an informal discussion, please contact Paul Hughes, Private Sector Housing Manager on (01926) 456729 or email paul.hughes@warwickdc.gov.uk
