Environmental Health Manager

Salary: Between £47,397 and £57,105 per annum

Location: Based at King’s Court Council Offices, King’s Lynn

Following internal promotion, we now have a rare opportunity for you to join the Council as a Service Manager to lead the Community Safety and Housing Standards Teams.

You will have overall responsibility for the Councils duties in relation to; community safety and antisocial behaviour and the West Norfolk Help Hub; neighbourhood nuisance and public health interventions; environmental crime; enforcement of housing standards; unauthorised encampments; and to identifying options to deliver green homes and energy efficiency grants. This role includes service planning and budget control, managing the enforcement of all relevant legislation, overseeing and mentoring the work of the teams, ensuring staff are trained and competent to carry out their duties effectively and representing the Council at the relevant meetings.

We are looking for a highly professional and committed individual to help us deliver these key services for the Council. You will have a professional qualification in Environmental Health and be a Chartered Member of CIEH or CIH with experience of leading a number of functions and staff involved in public service. You will have an understanding of the issues facing local government particularly for Environmental Health and Housing with sound knowledge of new and emerging legislation across the services managed.
