We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Consumer Safety Manager to play a key role within our Community Protection Service.

We want to improve consumer safety and promote better business across the range of Community Protection services and as a member of our Business Compliance Team, you will be central to this challenge.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the transformation of local services, delivering strategic regulation, promoting business compliance, and creating safer places.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

You will be responsible for operational management and performance of the Consumer Safety teams, effective delivery of services.

You will take a lead on service-wide projects and provide advice and guidance to Senior Officers, the Council, and its members.

You will also lead by example in terms of embedding the vision, values, and behaviours of Durham County Council.

You should be committed to the delivery of services that are of the highest quality, in accordance with the Council’s priorities and contribute to County Durham being a place where there are more and better jobs, people live long, and independent lives and our communities are well connected and supportive.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?
You should be an inspirational leader who is able to develop the capabilities within your team, have excellent communication skills, capable of making effective decisions and seeing the bigger picture at all times.

Successful candidates will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject and able to demonstrate considerable experience in managing multi-disciplined teams within local authority regulatory services.
