Technical Officer (Pollution Control)
Pollution Control Team, Regulatory Services
37 hours per week permanent role
Grade G £30,151 to £33,820 per annum, plus essential car user allowance
Working as part of a friendly and supportive team, you will carry out a wide range of duties in relation to pollution control matters including nuisance and contaminated land. You will see through cases from the provision of advice, guidance, serving of notices to enforcement and deal with a wide range of customers. The work will be reactive in dealing with complaints and requests and also proactive in assessing the environmental impacts of planning applications. You will also respond to licensing consultations. Using your excellent communication and customer care skills you will promote excellent standards within Bolton and be able to take appropriate enforcement action, where required, to achieve compliance. Tour excellent decision-making skills will be key to this role.

Environmental Health Officer Fixed Term
Food and Health & Safety Team, Regulatory Services
37 hours per week on an 18 month fixed term contract
Grade H £33,820 to £37,261 per annum, plus essential car user allowance
Qualifications Required: Diploma or degree in Environmental Health and be registered as an EHO with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board.
Due to Public Health Funding, we are delighted to be able offer a fixed term position for 18 months that will concentrate on inspecting our registered premises for tattooing, permanent skin colouring, cosmetic piercing, acupuncture and electrolysis. Working as part of a friendly and supportive team, you will inspect all the current registered premises and take any enforcement action as appropriate to achieve compliance in this industry sector. Whilst undertaking this work, you may also locate unregistered premises or persons. If this is the case, you will then process in line with our current policies and practices to achieve a consistent safe standards and working practices.
