Location: Council Offices, Mill Lane, Wingerworth, Chesterfield (with hybrid and mobile working)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced or aspiring Service Manager to join our professional and friendly team at Environmental Health in North East Derbyshire.
About Us
We are a modern and dynamic Joint Environmental Health Service serving the semirural district communities of Bolsover and North East Derbyshire. Employed by and based in North East Derbyshire, we work flexibly across both districts. The service has fully embraced hybrid and mobile working and is further investing in technology to fully support new ways of working.
The districts are an ideal place to live, work and visit and are situated between the Peak District National Park and Sherwood Forest with excellent access to the M1 motorway network and easy access to Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham.
About You
You will bring experience and enthusiasm and highly developed people and leadership skills relevant to advising and supporting our Commercial, Environmental Enforcement, Environmental Protection and Licensing Teams.
You’ll have a proven track record of coaching, developing and managing professionals, creating a positive working culture, delivering projects and change, and challenging both yourself and others constructively to find new ways to make a real impact.
The Team
As one of two Environmental Health Service Managers reporting to the Joint Assistant Director, you will work alongside our Service Development Manager and Team Managers. With a genuine Council wide ‘One Team’ culture, together we help shape and contribute to high-quality service delivery across Bolsover and North East Derbyshire.
Following a review and significant additional investment in the joint service, our improvement programme is well developed and beginning to deliver results. We are continually challenging ourselves to develop new and innovative ways to improve the services that make a real difference to people’s daily lives and support our businesses.
We strongly believe in investing in our staff and supporting personal development. This opportunity would suit an ambitious individual seeking to gain service management and leadership experience relevant to future advancement into a Senior Management Team opportunity.
