Environmental Health Officer (Housing)
Salary: £36,801 - £41,250 plus essential car user allowance
Location: Tonbridge & Malling - Borough Wide, Opportunity for flexible/home working
Contract: Permanent
Working Pattern: Full Time

We’re looking to recruit an experienced Environmental Health Officer to support the Council’s private sector housing enforcement and licensing functions.
The successful candidate will have a relevant Environmental Health qualification with a broad knowledge of all relevant legislation including the available powers and enforcement actions. They will be self-motivated, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as an agile approach to their work, delivering the housing enforcement and licensing objectives.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of housing functions. For example, investigating complaints concerning housing conditions and implementing the appropriate formal and informal enforcement actions to improve conditions for the occupants. They will lead on enforcement work within the team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the licensing of HMO’s and caravan sites, ensuring minimum standards and licence conditions are complied with.
The successful candidate will also support work relating to disabled facilities grants, empty homes, energy efficiency and public health duties.
