We are strengthening our leadership team by recruiting an exceptional individual into the brand-new role of Executive Director of Environmental Health. As a qualified and experienced Environmental Health Practitioner, you will bring credible and authoritative leadership to a range of professional policy and technical issues, orchestrating opportunities for CIEH to raise the profile of environmental health with governments, policy makers, key stakeholders and the general public – inspiring the next generation of professionals. You will need to balance personal expertise with a highly collaborative style that allows our members to shine, amplifying their voices and promoting champions from within our community.

Through a coordinated strategy encompassing membership engagement, external affairs and intellectual leadership, your inclusive and enabling leadership style will have a lasting and far-reaching impact upon everything from our membership proposition to a broader appreciation of how environmental health improves the lives of everyone, everywhere every day.

Candidates will be Chartered EHPs or of demonstrably equivalent calibre, with experience across different sectors and settings. You will need to demonstrate advanced communication skills alongside notable experience in external affairs, with the ability to articulate complex technical and policy issues with clarity and simplicity on the public stage. You will be an inclusive and inspiring leader with experience of working at executive team and Board level, and significant line management experience to collaborate effectively with a talented multi-disciplinary team.

• Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 per annum
