Grade 6 (6.1-6.4) £35,411 - £39,493 per annum

Permanent 37 hrs a week

The Private Sector Housing team are seeking an enthusiastic, confident and self-motivated individual for the Senior Environmental Health Officer (Housing) role in our busy private sector housing service.

Working within a multi-skilled team environment you will join a service whose core function is to raise housing standards within the private rented sector. You will co-ordinate the day to day actions and responses of a small but busy enforcement team investigating disrepair complaints, HMO licensing and empty properties as well as having your own active caseload. 

There is also the opportunity to lead on proactive initiatives to improve the health, safety and welfare of privately renting tenants as well as engage positively with landlords throughout the district.

You will have significant experience and thorough knowledge of current housing legislation as it relates to private sector housing and possess a Level 6 qualification in Environmental Health or an equivalent qualification recognised by the EHORB, as well as professional registration with EHORB. You will also have previous experience of line management.
