Job Details
Our client, based in South Essex, are looking to hire an Environmental Protection Officer to work in a busy Pollution team.
They have a vacancy to cover long term sickness and enable the continuation of EH Environmental Protection complaint investigations for statutory nuisance and public health related matters within the district. You must be able to be mobile around the borough and flexible to complete investigations that may require visits outside normal office hours. You must also have experience in serving abatement notices, collating evidence and prosecution files and be able to confidently attend court with the appropriate experience and competencies this would require.
You will be providing advice over the phone but where required you will organise and conduct follow up investigation work; you will need to have a good grasp of relevant environmental protection legislation, typical work includes noise and nuisance complaints.
Recruitment is intended for an initial 3 month period although this is likely to be extended. Start date is flexible, although we will need opportunity to ensure all necessary pre-employment checks, IT support etc is in place before commencement.
