Strategic Housing Manager

Our client, based in North London are looking for a Strategic Housing Manager to support the Council during a time of improvement and transformation. This role will work with the Associate Director, Housing Strategy Manager and other Housing Managers to deliver on projects and work streams required to deliver the strategic priorities and improvement programme being developed.

There is no direct line management responsibilities, but the role will manage colleagues as is required during project delivery. Examples of projects/work streams and responsibilities are Lead on procurement and commissioning of services, Lead and support on development of policies and strategies, such as a Nominations Policy or Policy for use of commuted sums, Lead on contract management or review of commissioned services and more.

To be successful you will need to have Solid and in depth experience in the management of statutory and strategic Housing services at a senior level as well as excellent knowledge and understanding of current relevant housing legislation, current issues and best practice and an advanced knowledge across the range of housing services, the relationship between housing and other service areas and the operating environment for local government e.g. agendas such as planning, health, education, welfare benefits, mental health, substance misuse and crime.

If you are the successful candidate you will be offered an initial contract to the end of March however this may be extended. They are looking to pay £400 Umbrella rate however they will pay more if qualifications and experience is reflected.
