Environmental Health Officer/Environmental Protection Officer, Pollution Control
Full time: 36 hours per week, Permanent contract
Salary: up to £42,974 per annum
Bromley in the South East of London has a good balance between the challenges of an inner London Authority and a District Council, with a mix of areas. We are London’s largest Borough geographically and cover densely urban areas in the north through to green belt countryside in the South.
The role involves delivering the team’s reactive and planned workload in relation to the control of pollution. You will support the delivery of all functions relating to Environmental Protection including, air quality, permitted processes, private water supplies, enviro-crime, contaminated land and noise, including reviewing and advising on planning applications and general enquiries. As part of your role you will undertake investigations into legislative breaches and take appropriate formal action.
If you specialise in one specific discipline, we still welcome an application from you. There may also be an opportunity to undertake the above role on a part-time basis.
You should ideally have a Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health or a related discipline, although those with transferable skills from other areas will be considered.
If you would like an informal discussion regarding this opportunity, please contact Charlotte Hennessy on 020 8461 7809 or by email charlotte.hennessy@bromley.gov.uk
The closing date for receipt of applications 1st December 2022
