Principal EHO Officer

Excellent new opportunity has arisen to take up a permanent position within one of our East London based clients. Greenwich council is working exclusively with Osborne Richardson as they look to appoint a Principal EHO - Private Housing Regulation and Fire Safety - Salary grade - PO5 (£44,628 - £47,661 )

This is a great time to be joining Greenwich as they are presently in the early stages of a restructure, with the plan being to implement a 5 year programme of work dealing with additional licensing. You can be an integral member of a new team that will really be making a difference for the local residents in the community.

Whilst also managing and leading a team of up to 6 front line officers, you will be expected to lead on, keep under review and develop the council's Enforcement of Licensing Scheme(s), Fire Safety, PSH Projects and overall improvements in Private Sector Housing (PSH) standards which may be supported through external grant funding where available.

In order to undertake this role, you will need to have demonstrable knowledge derived from being a housing professional, including understanding & appreciation of private sector housing and relevant licensing provisions, legislation and standards.

You must also be HHSRS accredited and have a relevant degree level qualification, and be a member of a relevant professional recognised body (Example. Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, Chartered Institute of Housing)
