All roles are Pay Award Pending and 37 hours per week.

We are expanding our Public Protection Team and are looking to recruit into the following roles, to support the ambitions of the Council in creating places where residents, tenants, visitors, and businesses are able to flourish, live well and fulfil their potential.

Environmental Protection

We are seeking enthusiastic individual to join the Environmental Protection Team. Your role will involve managing a caseload relating to general environmental protection matters, including, but not limited to, investigation of noise and other pollution complaints and enquiries, review and assessment of planning applications and supporting the team’s air quality and environmental permitting work.

You will possess a firm knowledge of current legislation and policies or experience in one of the environmental protection technical areas of noise, air quality, contaminated land and environmental permitting. Training and development in additional technical areas will be provided.

Business Compliance

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Food Safety Officer to join our Business Compliance team.  You will be required to provide a high-quality service to the public and our thriving business community by offering food safety, hygiene and health & safety advice and guidance as well as undertaking inspections and other interventions, as required.

We are looking for a candidate who has energy, enthusiasm and excellent communication skills in order to make a positive impact and help boost service delivery.

Private Sector Housing

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the Environmental Health Team. We would like to hear from motivated, driven, flexible professionals who have the skills and experience to work holistically and collaboratively with a range of partners to make a difference for people living in Newark and Sherwood.  Ideally, you will be competent and experienced in HHSRS assessment, taking the full range of enforcement action using the Housing Act 2004 and action under other Environmental Health legislation. You will be competent and experienced in issuing Civil Penalty Notices, taking prosecutions and undertaking works in default.  Knowledge of housing grants would be an advantage.
