Environmental Health Practitioner Salary £32,798 - £37,568 (Food Competent)

Food Safety Officer Salary £28,226 - £32,798

This role is initially based in Manby, it will change to Horncastle due to a planned office relocation.

We are looking for a dynamic person with a passion for Food Hygiene & Environmental Health to join our small but well established team. Working as a key person to help deliver this service across the East Lindsey District area to perform a vital role primarily covering Food Safety at an exciting time within our service.

For this role every day will present a different challenge.  This is not a job, which is tied to a desk and is not necessarily 9-5. You will be working with local business owners, residents and visitors to ensure that the highest possible standards are met. Where standards are not met, you will need to work within the legislation to take action to formally deal with non-compliance.

Please note there is only one role but we will accept applications from either Environmental Health Practitioners with current food competency or Food Safety Inspectors who meet the Food Law competency framework.

Do you possess the following qualities?

  • Either Fully Qualified EHP with Chartered Status or equivalent

Or

  • Food Safety Officer who meets the Qualification
  • Able to meet the competency frame work  Food Law Code of Practice
  • A professional, calm and positive manner
  • Frontline enforcement experience.
  • Effective communication and listening skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team as well as under your own initiative
  • Excellent IT skills and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English

The post will also involve some work outside of normal working hours and also occasionally providing support to other areas of the Environmental Health Service.

ABOUT US: Boston Borough Council, East Lindsey District Council and South Holland District Council have formed the South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership.  The largest Council Partnership in the country. Since October 2021, the Partnership Councils have been working closely to deliver improved services to the communities in the sub-region and already there have been many positive outcomes.

Over time, it is envisaged that services will become formally shared across the three Councils creating the opportunity for colleagues to be involved in new and innovate areas of work.

BENEFITS: East Lindsey is a forward thinking authority in terms of flexible working arrangements; the successful candidate would be able to make use of these, such as being able to work from home for some of the working week when not carrying out inspections/site visits or needing to carry out monitoring on District.

We offer excellent terms and conditions of employment including a Local Government pension scheme. We also offer a wide range of family friendly policies designed to enable you to balance your work and home life, manage your personal responsibilities and support you in times of difficulty.

If you are interested in having a confidential conversation about the roles, please contact David Dodds on 01507 613497 or Clare Wakeman 01507 613484
