We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Protection specialist to join our Environmental Health Team!
West Lancashire Borough Council is situated at the southern edge of Lancashire bordering Greater Manchester and Merseyside and is well connected to the motorway network. The area is geographically diverse, including the new town of Skelmersdale, the market town of Ormskirk, thriving industrial areas, rich farmland, and picturesque villages.
The role will primarily involve a range of Environmental Protection work including Planning and Licensing consultations, commercial and residential nuisance investigations, contaminated land, pollution permitting and air quality. However, there will also be the opportunity to become involved in private sector housing and emergency planning work. The post holder will need to be an experienced and EHORB registered Environmental Health Officer.
The Council is supportive of flexible working arrangements and the role attracts essential car user status.
What can we offer in return? We pride ourselves on our friendliness and being a good employer with a range of benefits and employment terms and conditions to suit you.
