As a Senior Operational Risk Business Partner, you’ll be managing a team of dispersed business partners to advise on health and safety, security, fire, access and environmental compliance.   

The candidate will be based in one of the regions covered by the role, and hold a full UK driving license and be willing to travel within the Midlands, North, Wales and Northern Ireland Regions. This will involve overnight stays as and when required. 

Your contractual location will be one of our regional hubs or properties, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree remote working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust.

What you'll be doing

At the Trust, no two days are alike, as a leader within in the Operational Risk team, your day could be anything from dealing with regulators, representing the Trust on external partnerships, helping develop internal policy or advising on complex property related projects across a varied and large geographical area, with everything from Mansion Houses, villages, farms, castles, monuments and acres of woods, coast and open countryside.  You’ll need to be adept at flexing your style and taking a pragmatic and imaginative approach to achieve compliance. 

The Senior Operational Risk Business Partner predominantly operating in the northern half of the Trust, you’ll be managing a team of dispersed Operational Risk Business Partners to deliver collaborative and enabling risk management advice. Your exact area of coverage will be determined once in post with the existing other Senior Operational Risk Business Partner (who is based in the South).   

You will report to the Head of Compliance and be closely supported by the national specialists within the Operational Risk team. 

Who we're looking for

You will have a relevant qualification in Health and Safety (e.g member of IOSH or CIEH) with strong technical expertise in Health and Safety and Risk Management, as well as experience of managing a dispersed compliance team within a large, complex organisation.  

You will also have comprehensive knowledge of the relevant legislative frameworks however, it is not just what you know, but how you share it. Practical and pragmatic, you must also be able to understand wider organisational context.  You should be able to demonstrate great influencing skills as well as the ability to build strong relationships – both internally and externally.
