Environmental Health Officer - Commercial Services (E1833)

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, talented and ambitious individual to work within our Commercial Services Team.

The Team is responsible for food safety, health & safety and mobile homes legislation, and is based across two locations within the Borough; Crewe and Macclesfield.

We have a full time Environmental Health Officer vacancy and may also consider part time / job share / term-time only positions as well, where this would meet the needs of both the individual and the service. Environmental Health Officers in the team are required to meet the Food Standards Agency’s Code of Practice ‘competency framework’ requirements for inspection of food premises.

Officers are responsible for a varied caseload across the disciplines covered by the Commercial Services Team, including food premises inspections, health & safety initiatives / accident investigations, responding to service requests, sampling and the investigation of food poisoning and outbreak notifications.  As part of the wider Regulatory Services Team, Commercial Services officers work closely with the Trading Standards, Licensing and Environmental Protection services helping with improved service delivery and providing personal development and training opportunities.
