Full-Time, 36.5 hours per week

We are looking for a person with the energy and passion for making a difference to be part of our Private Rented Sector management team. You will lead two specific teams: environmental health and private tenancy. The environmental health team works to ensure properties within the sector are compliant with legislation, thus assuring safety and standards. The private tenancy team works to protect tenants from harassment and illegal eviction. You will work alongside the Senior Services Manager for the mandatory HMO licensing and Empty Homes teams and your job is interchangeable with this management portfolio.

You will manage the team dealing with private sector housing complaints (including eviction and harassment), Section 82 matters, private high rise fire risk management, as well as specific projects to improve neighbourhoods. You will also be responsible for producing and developing policy and procedures covering the work of the team.

For this post you will be a fully qualified EHO or be an experienced officer in Private Rented Sector Housing with relevant qualifications/ training, and demonstrable experience of working in a senior/supervisory role.

You will have extensive enforcement experience, ideally in a housing or environmental health context, as well as knowledge of housing matters, legislation, formal enforcement and compiling evidence in preparation of pursuing formal action.

You will have a history of successful project/programme management as well as experience of policy development, performance monitoring, and working with the public and in multi-agency partnerships.
