Commercial Team

Environmental Health Officer / Lead Environmental Health Officer PO2 and PO3 (2 x Permanent full-time)

We are pleased to announce that we have two vacancies in our Commercial Environmental Health team. Royal Greenwich is a vibrant and diverse place to work, and includes iconic venues such as the O2, Old Royal Naval College (filming location for epic movies including Thor: The Dark World, Skyfall and Les Misérables) and Greenwich Park home to The Royal Observatory where time begins!

Public protection is the heart of everything we do. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service. Officers have opportunities to get involved in a wide range of regulatory, educational and partnership work across food hygiene and standards, occupational health and safety, infectious disease, and special treatment licensing. We have exciting primary authority partnerships and won the OPSS Regulatory Excellence Award 2021 for Outstanding Contribution to Local Communities for work with one of our partners.

We support a work life balance offering optional flexi scheme, fixed hours and/or condensed hours. Modern technology supports our hybrid working model allowing the team to work efficiently across the borough, in the office or remotely. We have a 35-hour week, generous annual leave and paid overtime opportunities. The Council also offers Cycle to Work schemes and Childcare schemes to support employees and is committed to equality and diversity with active staff networks such as Greenwich Race Equality Network and the Greenwich Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender forum.

We welcome applications from all EHO's, newly qualified and experienced officers, our friendly and professional team look forward to hearing from you!
