East Suffolk Council is a progressive, forward thinking organisation with strong values and a range of clear strategic ambitious plans to grow and develop our organisation, people and services. Sometimes referred to as a ‘Super district’, East Suffolk is home to 250,000 residents and to an exceptionally diverse economy and range of communities.

We’re looking to recruit an experienced Environmental Protection Manager to lead and manage our Environmental Protection team as it expands to meet the exciting challenges ahead. You will have overall responsibility for implementing the strategic direction, policies and procedures for the environmental protection service, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of the full range of services including the Council's statutory obligations. In addition, you will have the opportunity to input your environmental expertise into exciting major nationally significant infrastructure projects such as Sizewell C and the Lowestoft Flood Barrier.

Leading by example and providing a strong sense of direction, you will have the ability to inspire, motivate and manage in a fast-paced environment. You will be a natural communicator who can effectively engage others, with a proven track record in forging successful internal and external partnerships and delivering complex projects on time and within budget. You will be able to influence appropriately and challenge professionally so that the right decisions are made for the Council.

If you think you have what it takes to be successful in this role please apply. We’d appreciate the opportunity to consider your application.
