Duties of the post/ Who we’re looking for:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Adur & Worthing Councils working in a joint service across two local authorities located on the South Coast. We are seeking a Licensing Specialist to join our busy Licensing Unit within our Public Health & Regulation Team.

The successful candidate will be a confident, highly motivated and forward thinking individual. The main role will be focused on Licensing Act 2003 and Gambling Act 2005 but you will also be required to deal with a wide range of licensing and environmental matters, so it is essential you have a comprehensive knowledge of licensing legislation and enforcement.

You will work as part of an adaptable and professional team of officers, so enthusiasm and team working skills are key. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential. You will be a clear and accurate record keeper and use your knowledge and intuition to seek desirable outcomes.

What we can offer

We are a forward thinking organisation and you will have the opportunity to develop and grow in this role.

We offer flexible working conditions and benefits that can be tailored to suit you - from our essential car user scheme, parental leave policies through to employee discounts, we are committed to supporting you throughout your career with us.

The post will be based in Worthing, however the Councils operate flexible working practices including home working.
