You will deal with a wide range of environmental protection matters, so it is essential you have comprehensive knowledge of relevant environmental protection legislation and enforcement. A knowledge of and experience in acoustics, air quality and/or environmental permitting would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will work as part of a busy, agile, friendly, inclusive and professional team. Team working skills are key as is the ability to work with others across the Council and with external organisations and businesses. Good communication skills are vital. You will also be a clear and accurate record keeper and use your knowledge and intuition to seek desirable outcomes.

We are a forward thinking organisation and you will have the opportunity to develop and grow in this role.  On top of this, you’ll get an excellent pay package with five weeks of paid leave per year (+ bank holidays) and a local government pension.

We offer flexible working conditions and benefits that can be tailored to suit you - from our essential car user scheme, parental leave policies through to employee discounts, we are committed to supporting you throughout your career with us.

We are currently making lasting changes to working post-Covid, which will provide opportunities for greater flexible working.
