We currently have the following opportunities to join our Public Protection Service. Further information on the roles available are detailed below and within the individual job descriptions.
Environment and Community Protection Team Leader
£39,960 - £42,852
For this post you will previous experience across all core disciplines of environmental crime, anti-social behaviour and environmental protection. You will also have demonstrable experience of working in a senior/supervisory role.
You will provide clear leadership and guidance to a range of service teams providing frontline operational services to the residents, businesses and visitors. The primary focus of this role is to raise the standards of the environment within our communities, deterring anti- social behaviour, building community confidence and improving environmental health, quality and safety. You will be responsible for leading the team, and supporting the team to use all tools and powers at their disposal to achieve this, drawing expertise from the team, the Police and other partner agencies where required.
For this post you will also oversee the provision and monitoring of the Council’s CCTV service and out of hours call handling service, ensuring the service is operationally effective and adequately staffed at all times.
You will report to the Public Protection Manager.
Private Sector Housing Team Leader
SK17-18 + 7% market supplement (currently £42,757 - £45,851 per annum including market supplement of 7%)
For this post you will be a fully qualified EHO or be an experienced Officer in Private Sector Housing and Disabled Facilities Grants with relevant qualifications/ training, and demonstrable experience of working in a senior/supervisory role.
You will provide clear leadership and guidance to the private sector housing and disabled facilities grants teams who provide frontline operational services to the residents. You will be responsible for leading the team, and supporting the team to use all tools and powers at their disposal to achieve this, drawing expertise from the team and other partner agencies where required.
You will report to the Public Protection Manager.
Senior Environmental Health Officer (Environmental Protection)
SK16 + 5% market supplement (currently £39,677 per annum, includes a market supplement of 5%)
For this post, you will be a fully qualified EHO. You will also need an in depth current knowledge of relevant legislation and previous experience of working in a local government enforcement environment.
You will be the lead officer for environmental protection matters and will also provide day to day advice, guidance and technical and developmental support to the environmental protection officers within the team.
You will report to the Environment and Community Safety Team Leader.
