Buckingham Futures are working on behalf of our client, a large retail store in their search for a dynamic and experienced Environmental Health Manager to join their team.

 

Salary: £50,000 - £63,000 per annum

 

The role is based in Liverpool and is on a full-time basis.

 

Reporting directly to the Health & Safety Director, you will be responsible for supporting business compliance with all aspects of Environmental Health regulation, with a particular focus on waste compliance and management. The role is essential to developing the safety management system and monitoring compliance across the business.

 

The role incorporates both responsive and preventative approaches to minimise the risk of occupational health issues, accidents, and injuries to those affected by our operations, as well as identifying, coordinating, and driving improvements in safety, compliance, and quality.

 

Duties

 

Ensure a safe workplace environment for staff minimising the risk to health and regular review and communication of all health and safety policies, procedures and standards.

Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas of Environmental Health and has appropriate preventative and responsive measures in place.

Support the development of health and safety policies, and safe systems of work and procedures.

To keep abreast of the completion and review of risk assessments for all aspects of the business.

Ensure that all accidents are documented and investigated as appropriate and any identified improvements are implemented.

Provide a planned programme of safety inspections and audits is carried out and employees are aware of their responsibilities.

Ensure that Health and Safety and Food Safety Management Systems are accurately updated and maintained and that legislative requirements are met.

Organise and carry out training and ensure that any related statutory requirements are met throughout the business.

Arrange, chair, formulate and distribute minutes for the health and safety committee meetings and ensure all agreed action points are completed within deadlines.

Create and monitor compliance reports.

 

About You

  • BSc or MSc in Environmental Health
  • Certificate of Registration from the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHORB)
  • Experience in waste compliance and safety
  • An expert knowledge and understanding of EU and UK legislation
  • Demonstrable experience in keeping up-to-date with new legislation, maintaining expert knowledge of health and safety and food safety legislation
  • Demonstrable record of performance, productivity and service deliver
  • Full clean Drivers Licence
  • Willing to travel as required
