Environmental Health Practitioner – Food and Safety Team

Grade 10 (£33291 - £39,774) Full Time Fixed Term until March 2023

The Food and Safety team are looking to recruit a full time Environmental Health Practitioner for a fixed term until the end of March 2023.  The post holder will be required to undertake a wide range of duties to verify that food businesses and other commercial operations within the borough are meeting the correct food hygiene and health and safety standards. 

The successful candidate will carry out risk based food hygiene and food standard inspections, food hygiene or health and safety checks at public events, as well involvement in reactive investigations in relation to hygiene, infectious diseases and accidents.  There may also be the opportunity for involvement in project work across all disciplines

As a minimum you must have recent experience of completing food hygiene inspections within a local government setting, you must have registration with EHRB or equivalent and be able to demonstrate competency in line with the FSA Code of Practice.

You will hold a full driving licence and be able to provide your own car.  You may be required to work some evenings, weekends and on a flexible basis.
