We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated enthusiastic

Environmental Health Officer

Grade 9 £31,895 - £34,373 per annum

Wyre Council is seeking to increase the capacity of the Environmental Protection and Community Safety Team and is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join us an Environmental Health Officer.

Reporting to the manager of Environmental Protection and Community Safety, you will be responsible for a district within the Authority and carry out a wide range of general environmental health and anti-social behaviour duties in accordance with statutory and council policies.

You are required to have post qualification experience in Environmental Protection and an Environmental Health Officers Registration Board (EHORB) Registration Certificate.

If you wish to join an enjoyable yet challenging working environment that forms part of an organisation committed to making a real difference for the community that we serve, then we want to hear from you.

Located on the Lancashire coast, with Preston, Blackpool and the Lake District nearby, the borough of Wyre is an area of great contrasts and includes urban areas, seaside resorts, traditional market towns and picturesque villages. All this is within an extensive rural area that includes parts of the Forest of Bowland (an area of outstanding natural beauty). The area is well connected with great transport links including excellent rail services but despite all these advantages the cost of living is generally lower than many parts of the UK with quality urban and rural housing to meet all tastes and pockets.

We offer a great work life balance with flexible working arrangements, up to 28 days annual leave subject to length of service, employer pension contribution of 18.3%, free onsite parking, discounted gym membership, access to occupational health and wellbeing services, extensive training and development opportunities and a supportive workplace culture that allows you to develop and grow.

Generous relocation allowances may be available if moving to the area to take up this post.

For an informal discussion about the post, contact, Neil Greenwood, Tel: 01253 887410.
