Commercial Protection (Food, Health and Safety and Licensing)

37 hours per week (temporary contract, approximately 9 months)

Salary £33,486 rising to £35,336

Plus an Essential Car User Allowance of up to £963 per annum

We are seeking a motivated, experienced Environmental Health Officer to play a key role in the Commercial Protection team covering Food, Health and Safety and licensing. The role is both challenging and varied and will include working with businesses to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.  You will have your own caseload of food safety, health and safety and licensing work to carry out.

You will be a qualified Environmental Health Practitioner and EHRB registered or currently competent as specified in the Food Law Code of Practice; with recent experience in a similar role. You must have excellent communication skills as you will be expected to work independently and build effective working relationships at all levels.

Environmental Protection (Housing)

37 hours per week (temporary contract, approximately 9 months)

Salary £33,486 rising to £35,336

Plus an Essential Car User Allowance of up to £963 per annum

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Environmental Protection Team as a Housing EHO and cover maternity leave. The role works across a diverse housing sector, but primarily with low income households in private rented housing. You will bring your construction/housing enforcement experience and knowledge to this role, to drive up standards across the rented sector, ensure compliance in how Houses in Multiple Occupation are managed, and tackle issues caused by empty homes.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills to effectively manage all stakeholders in the enforcement process, including tenants, private landlords, registered providers of social housing, other accommodation providers, Fire Service, Police, and other Council departments
