We are a busy service covering a wide range of environmental health work.
As a Contaminated Land Officer you will be the lead officer for all matters related to land that may have been subjected to previous contaminative uses. You will lead of the implementation of the Contaminated land strategy under Part IIA of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. You will be expected to assess proposals for decontamination as part of the planning process.
You should have a relevant degree or equivalent with specialist knowledge in assessing and dealing with contaminated land.
Recent relevant technical experience and knowledge relating to contaminated land is required as is the ability to manage your own caseload. You will also need to have knowledge of major legislative, social and economic issues relevant to the job and an understanding of supporting legislation/best practice.
