Private Sector Housing Standards Officer
We have an exciting vacancy for a forward-thinking and motivated person to join our Private Sector Housing Service.
Working as our Private Sector Housing Standards Officer you will help to ensure that our residents live in decent private sector housing through proportionate regulation of housing standards. Candidates will need the skills and experience to suitably engage with our local private landlords and lettings agents to proactively improve property standards and working practices.
This will involve a varied workload including energy efficiency initiatives, empty properties and houses in multiple occupation, and the investigation of related complaints. This will also include the inspection and enforcement of caravan sites, issuing licences and applying site conditions where required.
Working within the Regulatory Services team, the role requires a knowledgeable and competent candidate, with the ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues and partner agencies.
