We are looking for an Environmental Health Officer to join our small but busy Regulatory Compliance Team which deals with Food Hygiene, Public Health, Health and Safety, and Animal Welfare Licensing.
Amber Valley is an attractive area in the heart of Derbyshire on the edge of the Peak District National Park and close to the lively cities of Nottingham and Derby. We are looking for an enthusiastic professional who enjoys a challenge and is competent or willing to develop their professional competency, particularly around food hygiene work. You will need to demonstrate a strong sense of self-motivation, be a competent communicator and be capable of taking responsibility for your individual targets.
We have a diverse range of businesses in our area ranging from major manufacturers to domestic based enterprises so the opportunities to develop and fine tune your regulatory skills will be plentiful. We encourage our officers to have a broad competency across all the team’s disciplines thereby giving plenty of chances to expand your knowledge and skills.
Applications are invited from those who hold a certificate of registration with EHRB and also to persons who hold a recognised qualification for food hygiene enforcement as contained in the current Food Law Code of Practice who are seeking to complete their professional qualification registration.
Full driving licence required.
Commencing salary will be dependent on experience and qualifications.
In line with the current Food Law Code of Practice and Practice Guidance, those invited for interview will be requested to provide a draft of their current competency matrix.
For an informal discussion please contact Julia Cope, Regulatory Compliance Manager on 01773 841341 or email julia.cope@ambervalley.gov.uk
In addition, we can offer:
- Casual user car allowance
- Flexible working hours
- Personal and professional development
- Free on-site parking
