Bedford Borough Council requires a qualified and experienced Environmental Health Officer to lead officers within the Community Regulation Housing and Pollution team.

The team are responsible for a range of regulatory functions including Housing enforcement, HMO Licensing both Mandatory and Additional, Pollution and domestic Statutory Nuisance matters and also for responding to Planning consultation requests to ensure the Council meets its statutory obligations.

Reporting to the Manger for Community Regulation you will be required to have a broad knowledge and substantial relevant experience with a demonstrable track record of motivating staff, excellent communication skills, and the ability to oversee legal documents and case files plus you must be able to show initiative in problem solving and decision making, along with sensitivity in managing contentious issues.
