About us
We’re proud to be an island of constant change and continuing modernisation. Our ambition as a government is for all islanders to enjoy a good quality of life, in a fair and balanced society, sustained by a prosperous economy and outstanding, high-quality public services. That’s where you come in.
About the roles
Food Safety Manager
Directing and overseeing the operational delivery of regulatory services from ‘farm to fork’, you’ll be part of a dynamic team focused on raising and maintaining food safety standards in relation to the supply, distribution, manufacturing, processing, sale and consumption of food. We’ll look to you to drive the success of our ‘Eat Safe Scheme’ and future planned initiatives following a proposed new and updated Food Safety Law and associated subordinate legislation.
Port Health Manager for the Food and Plant Security Team
This is a busy and exciting remit as you proactively lead your team in the delivery of Official Control sampling and monitoring programs, physical and documentary inspections at the Ports, manage the timely issue of certificates and other regulatory functions to fulfil Brexit related obligations and business as usual statutory functions sitting within the Plant Health / Agricultural Inspectorate and Food border inspector’s portfolio.
About you
Together with a relevant level 7 qualification, you may have experience in regional or national forums.
An inspirational leader of the Food and Plant Security Team, you’ll develop knowledge of port operations, Brexit, the issue of export certificates and the ability to shape and utilise resources to get the best job done. You’ll also have a breadth of knowledge across the economy, environment and the community in balancing public protection and commercial practice.
Similarly, as an inspirational leader for the Food Safety Team you will apply your breadth of knowledge to ensure Jersey remains a centre of excellence as a food destination, providing high levels of public protection in relation to Food Safety as we look to significantly update our regulatory framework and bring all stakeholders with us on this exciting journey. You will play a key role in the implementation of a proposed new Law, drive positive change and be instrumental in the review and delivery of a suite of new subordinate legislation.
Join us and you’ll play a crucial role in making Jersey an amazing place to live, work and visit for everyone.
