We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Protection Team Leader to join our team.  

You will manage a small but busy Environmental Protection Team, incorporating nuisance, environmental permitting, air quality management, contaminated land, and the dog warden services. The Environmental Protection Team is part of the wider Public Protection Service, which also includes the food safety, health & safety and licensing functions.

As the Environmental Protection Team Leader, you will be an effective communicator with good interpersonal skills. With the ability to supervise a team of professional officers, you will have good investigative, decision making and problem-solving skills. It is essential that you can manage your time effectively and work well as part of a team.

You will need recent experience of working in Environmental Protection with a specialist working knowledge in one or more disciplines such as contaminated land or air quality.  You will have a good understanding of local government and the wider context of Environmental Health as well as a sound up to date knowledge of principles of law and administration relating to Environmental Protection.
