A Hertfordshire based council is looking for an two officers to join their Environmental Health Team. The role will initially go until the end of March 2022, with good scope to beyond after that. Ideally full time would be preferred, however, part time (3 days a week) would be considered. 

If you specialise in either Food or EP, this could be the perfect one for you! Getting stuck in with all the expected daily tasks, whilst also working with public health colleagues and other partners to ensure effective infectious disease control. 

Main duties of the post will include:

  • Undertaking food safety interventions; investigation of food poisoning outbreaks and other food-related incidents; investigating food complaints and undertaking other food related duties. Plus undertaking health and safety projects; the investigation of reportable accidents, incidents and dangerous occurrences; the investigation of health and safety complaints and other related duties.
  • And/or regulation of environmental protection legislation, including the investigation of complaints relating to statutory nuisance, responding to planning application consultations and other related duties.

Applicants must have in depth knowledge of ]food safety law, or environmental protection law, and must be able to demonstrate recent environmental health experience within either discipline. Knowledge of public health legislation relating to Coronavirus and experience is desirable. A current driving licence is essential.
