Food Safety Officer

2022 is here! It is normal at this time of year to start to thinking about what areas of our lives we would like to improve and work on. Whilst the majority of us spend the vast amount of hour waking hours at work, it would only make sense to enjoy what we do! 

A council based in Northamptonshire are looking for a Food Safety Officer to join their Environmental Health team. You will be covering a range of C – E rated inspections, and other routine food work including complains, disease outbreaks and general advice to business. 

The manager for this role is willing to be very flexible with working arrangements. They are happy for you to spend 2-3 days on site and the remainder of the week working from home.

The contract will initially run to the end of March 2022, and most likely will be extended beyond that. Ideally you will be able to start in within a couple of weeks. The council are offering an attractive hourly rate of £40 - £45 per hour, depending on experience.

You must have a good knowledge of current food safety/hygiene standards and regulations. You must either be a certified EHO or hold a higher level certificate in food safety. It is essential that you have an up to date knowledge of current legislation and have over 2 years’ experience working within Food Safety in Local Authority.
