Environmental Health Officer - Environmental Protection Officer

Our client in Oxfordshire is seeking an Environmental Health Officer to join its Environmental Protection team.

Main purpose:

Investigenoise and other pollution from commercial premises especially in the entertainment sector, working closely with a pollution enforcement officer and reporting to a principal lead officer.

Responsibilities:

Undertake programmed and routine inspections of premises in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations and/or codes of practice, and in compliance with Council policies and procedures where appropriate, so as to ensure their compliance with relevant statutes.

To compose letters, notices and schedules of work as necessary in accordance with the Councils Enforcement Policy and to investigate offences and prepare statements and case files for prosecutions or other enforcement actions in accordance with PACE and to attend a Court of Law to give evidence when necessary.

To carry out duties outside normal working hours, where necessary for the purposes of noise and pollution investigations.

To apply, you will have considerable experience in nuisance investigation including noise.

You would also need to be able to make field visits sometimes at unsociable hours.
