Looking to develop yourself further and embark upon your new exciting journey? We have a great opportunity within our Housing and Environmental Health Service.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Environmental Health Officer or Housing Standards Officer for our small Private Sector Housing team. The team deals with standards and conditions of housing in the Borough, as well as licensing of Houses in Multiple Occupation and Caravan Sites, energy efficiency improvements, and works covered under our financial assistance policy including Disabled Facilities Grants.   You will assist in the delivery of all aspects of the private sector housing service, and you should have experience in one or more aspects of the work.

We are looking for someone who has good technical knowledge of housing standards, as well as a working knowledge of the Housing Health & Safety rating system. You will need excellent communication skills to deal with various stakeholders to develop positive working relationships. To be successful in this role you will need to have a relevant building or environmental health qualification and demonstrate experience in carrying out property inspections and achieving compliance with housing standards.  You will need to be able to work individually as well as part of a team to achieve desired outcomes.

We offer successful applicants a competitive salary, a great place to work with enthusiastic and supportive colleagues. As well as this, we actively promote a good work/life balance including flexible working hours and some home working opportunities, encourage continuous learning and development and have a wellbeing programme of events designed to support employee wellbeing.
