The work of the Authority is vital to the smooth running of the border, and to the protection of food safety and public health in the UK. At this grade you will manage assigned staff within the service and take lead responsibility for specific tasks within the wider remit of the Port Health Authority.
You will lead on all core activity in connection with Official Controls including carrying out checks on imports of products of animal origin and high risk food not of animal origin in order to ensure that only products that are safe to eat enter the food chain. You will have full opportunity to provide your expertise and input on shaping service delivery.
