Port Health Team Leader

Our client, based in based in Kent are looking for 9 Port Health Team Leaders. As the implications of Brexit take a hold they need to add further resource to their team to help manage a huge volume of work at their brand new Border Control Facility in Kent. They are looking for dynamic Port Health Team Leaders to come in and manage the running of a fast paced Border Control Facility.

The work of the Authority is vital to the smooth running of the border, and to the protection of food safety and public health in the UK. They ensure the smooth flow of safe food through Europe's busiest ferry port - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - and onto the shelves of shops and supermarkets across the country. And you could play a key role in shaping this expanded operation!

The team will be carrying out checks on imports of products of animal origin and high risk food not of animal origin. You will be involved with checks on organic food, illegal unreported and unregulated fishing, animal composites and other relevant controlled goods.

You will provide leadership to a team of Port Health Officers responsible for regulating the facility. Therefore, you must have excellent skills and experience in managing and developing high performing teams.

The salary offered is competitive £45,880 to £51,916 per annum with 14% shift allowance (£52,303 - £59,184) as well as a car allowance of £6,350. Relocation assistance will be provided to those moving from outside the immediate locality.
