Environmental Health/ Port Health Officers
2 x Permanent roles and 1 x Fixed Term Contract until December 2022
We have some exciting opportunities for enthusiastic Environmental Health Officers to join our Food Safety & Port Health team.
The work of the team includes an interesting mix of food hygiene, across a range of business types, infectious disease, health & safety (food premises), regulation of shellfish beds, water quality and Port Health.
The Port Health remit of the team is expanding significantly with the establishment of a new BCP at the Port of Poole, following EU Exit. Port Health will therefore be a key part of these roles and this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service from the start.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals, with a flexible approach and an eagerness to develop new skills. Excellent communication skills, to explain, negotiate and influence, and the ability to work under pressure are also essential.
You must hold a Degree, Diploma or Master’s in Environmental Health, or equivalent qualification, and be able to demonstrate food competencies, as detailed in the Food Law Code of Practice.
For an informal discussion about the post please contact Caroline Fair 01202 123495
As a result of the creation of BCP Council in 2019, we are working on simplifying our terms and conditions of service and will be creating a single pay structure which all of our employees will move on to. It is important to us that we offer benefits that our colleagues value as part of their total employment package and we are reviewing these to make sure we have it right. We’re hoping to implement these changes in 2022 and all colleagues joining us will be included in these changes.
