Buckingham Futures have fantastic opportunities for Senior Port Health Officers in southeastern England.

This is your opportunity to work within a seaside location bursting with heritage, with several towns and villages within easy reach of the coast and excellent transportation links to London and across the continent via High-Speed trains or Cross Channel ferries.

Our client is currently setting up a major UK Border Control Facility, working in conjunction with DEFRA. They are looking to recruit 11 Port Health Officers. The work of the Authority is vital to the smooth running of the border, and to the protection of food safety and public health in the UK. They ensure the smooth flow of safe food through Europe's busiest ferry port - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - and onto the shelves of shops and supermarkets across the country. And you could play a key role in shaping this expanded operation!

As a Senior Port Health Officer you will lead on all core activity in connection with Official Controls including carrying out checks on imports of products of animal origin and high risk food not of animal origin in order to ensure that only products that are safe to eat enter the food chain. You will have full opportunity to provide your expertise and input on shaping service delivery.

The salary offered is £34,927 to £40,746 per annum (with a 14 % shift allowance increasing that to £41,769 - £47,272 per annum), you will be offered a generous holiday package as well as benefits including but not limited to extensive professional development and a fantastic pension scheme.

Our client is looking to hold first round interviews by the start of January 2022 with a view to having you in post by April 2022, so you have the right skills, experience and qualifications for these roles and feel you match the requirements, or if you would like more information on the role, please contact us on 020 8125 4321 or email info@buckinghamfutures.com
