We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Environmental Health Officer and an Environmental Health Officer/Food Safety Officer to join our ambitious and progressive Shared Environmental Health Partnership at Mole Valley and Tandridge District Councils.

You will be working in a beautiful part of the country, amongst the Surrey Hills an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Both roles require a standard DBS disclosure and a full clean driving licence is essential, to provide ready mobility around the partnership areas.

Senior Environmental Health Officer - SEHO/001 – Salary: £38,292 -£42,857

You will take a lead role in the delivery of pollution control within the team. Enjoying a range of duties and focusing on statutory nuisance investigation, air quality monitoring and reporting, the inspection and environmental permitting of processes under LAPPC and applying specialist knowledge to make recommendations on planning and licensing applications, together with playing a key role in supporting the service’s primary authority partnership agreements.

Achieving all this will require proven experience in the field, enthusiasm, good organisation skills and a strong technical knowledge of pollution control. The role will involve working closely with the public, colleagues, business proprietors and elected members and will require excellent customer service and communication skills.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified and experienced post holder who holds a BSc or MSc in Environmental Health and EHRB registration or a CIEH accredited alternative and have proven experience of pollution control measures and achieving compliance through both a supportive as well as a staged approach to enforcement.

Environmental Health Officer/Food Safety Officer - EHO/FSO/001 – Salary: £34,471-£37,317

You will enjoy a range of duties, focusing on the inspection of food businesses in all risk categories, including a number of approved establishments, the participation in sampling programmes, as well as the inspection of workplaces and the completion of nationally and locally agreed targeted health and safety projects.

In addition, there will be the opportunity to contribute to the risk assessment and monitoring of private water supplies, to participate in the delivery of accredited training courses and the investigation of infectious disease cases, including COVID-19, together with playing a key role in supporting the service’s primary authority partnership agreements with several high profile businesses.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified and experienced post holder who holds a BSc or MSc in Environmental Health and EHRB registration or a CIEH accredited alternative, have proven experience of promoting compliance through both a supportive as well as a staged approach to enforcement and be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of current legislation.
