About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Environmental Health Practitioner to join our dynamic Environmental Health team on a full-time permanent basis.
This is a role for an individual that likes to problem solve and takes pride in delivering a great service to customers. You’ll need to bring a positive attitude, be prepared to try new ways of working, celebrate success and demonstrate perseverance to achieve changing community and individual behaviour through communication, guidance or enforcement.

Organisational skills will be invaluable – your focus will centre on compliance with statutory requirements through enforcement, inspection, investigation, auditing and monitoring in respect of food safety/standards, health and safety, infectious disease, licensing e.g. massage and special treatment, public health and smoke-free.

About You
 You will need to possess a relevant qualification In Environmental Health. This is a frontline role, so good verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to explain complex legislation to a variety of audiences.

The below qualifications are an essential requirement for the role:

  • Higher Certificate in Food Control (HCFC) or Higher Certificate in food premises inspections (HCFP) or a suitable qualification as outlined in the Food Code of Practice.
  • Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Registration Board.
  • MSc/BSc/Diploma in Environmental Health. 
  • Registration as a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner or the equivalent experience.
  • Maintenance of competency requirements in respect of the CIEH (CPD), RDNA, FSA, HSE or relevant body.
