Swindon Environmental Health has recently returned to the Public Health Directorate and we are now recruiting two Environmental Health Officers to work within our close knit, friendly and high performing teams. Food and Health & Safety

We are looking for a Food & Health & Safety Environmental Health Officer to work with in the Health Compliance team.

As an Environmental Health Officer in our Health Compliance Team, you will be part of a successful team operating across the whole Food Hygiene, Food Standards and Health & Safety, Infectious Diseases and Private Water Supply arena. You will receive and deal with both proactive and complaint led cases covering food hygiene and safety, health and safety , infectious diseases, private water supplies and Primary Authority partnerships, including commercial health and safety enforcement and accident investigations, Public Health and more.

Housing and Environmental Protection

We are looking for an Environmental Health Officer to compliment the Healthy Neighbourhoods Team (Housing and Environmental Protection).

As an officer in our Healthy Neighbourhoods Team you will be part of a successful and mutually supportive team operating across the whole Housing and Environmental Protection arena. You will carry a case-load that spreads across the whole field, but with opportunities to train and develop a specialism for the right candidate too.

In short, you will be working as part of a holistic and multi-disciplinary team providing advice, enablement, and enforcement as part of a wider public health delivery agenda.

It is essential that you have a degree in Environmental Health, & EHORB registration or equivalent, and you will be able to demonstrate a broad technical background across a range of relevant Environmental Health disciplines. You will possess excellent people skills allied with the proven ability to listen, explain, negotiate and influence. You will have a track record of good performance in a busy environment.

Newly qualified Environmental Health Officers or those close to completion of their degree or equivalent masters/apprenticeship qualification will be considered.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
